History with Hilbert takes you on an exciting journey through a vast array of history. From Anglo-Saxon Britain, to the Dutch Golden Age. You can learn about the Zulus of South Africa and the Steppe peoples of Central Asia. Hilbert looks at history through a different lens, analysing not just historical events, but the development of language and the symbolism of flags. As well as creating images to tell a story, Hilbert often visits places to give a first hand feel to the history he is telling - this combination has led to him gaining nearly a quarter of a million subscribers, with some videos being watched over a million times.

I love the fact that YouTube can connect people from any background from across the world and unite them in what they love. For me this is history, but this can be extended to any number of things: cooking, sports, literature, cute cats, and, even dare I say... ASMR? The history community on YouTube is fantastic and I love that I am able to contribute and also learn from fellow history lovers!
